Three New “Monster” Rides Offer Triple Dose of Adrenaline at Mountain Mile Complex in Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (August 23, 2019) – FACE Amusement Group, in partnership with Soaring Eagle Zipline Inc., has announced a “monstrous” new trio of one-of-a-kind thrill rides at the Mountain Mile entertainment complex (2655 Teaster Lane, Suite 400) in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee: The Mountain Monster, featuring the Mountain Monster, Monster Fall and Monster Launch.

All three unique attractions operate from a single 190-foot tower, where riders will drop, dive and dangle at the center of the growing entertainment complex. The innovative tower design is the creation of Soaring Eagle, which owns and operates six amusement attractions in the Pigeon Forge area. Setting the stage for future expansion plans, The Mountain Monster attractions are located in the heart of Pigeon Forge among 155,000 square feet of retail and dining options which are sure to offer fun experiences for kids and kids at heart.

“It’s a pleasure partnering on this project with the team at Soaring Eagle, who shares our emphasis on family, friends and fun,” said Bucky Mabe, CEO of FACE Amusement Group. “This unique combination of rides at the Mountain Mile entertainment complex delivers a state-of-the-art experience with three levels of extreme thrill that dare devils will appreciate.”

The most intense of the three new tower rides, the Mountain Monster is an aerial dive ride that drops two passengers from atop a 175-foot platform, swinging them out over the complex at 65 mph. Riders reach the platform via a two-seat chair lift, then exit and transfer to an open-air seat for the ride. At the end of the 10-minute thrill ride, guests are raised back up to the tower platform, transferred back to the chair lift and returned to the ground below. There is a surprise bonus option for riders once they are returned to the platform.

On one side of the tower is the eight-passenger Monster Fall, a true freefall experience that slowly raises riders to the top of the 190-foot tower, offering a birds-eye view of the surrounding Pigeon Forge valley. At the top, guests are suspended for up to 12 seconds to build anticipation. Without warning, guests are dropped from the top of the tower, reaching speeds up to 52 mph before coming to a smooth stop at the bottom.

With its unique, wide-open saddle seat design, the Monster Launch gives the sensation of complete exposure, as two brave riders sit back-to-back and are “slung” 140 feet straight up into the air. For an added thrill, riders have the option to add a heart-stopping flip at the top. For those who want to relive all the fun, videos of their experience will be available for $15 each. A grand opening special will be offered, giving guests an all-day unlimited access to The Monster Fall and The Monster Launch for just $30 and the Mountain Monster will be offered half price at $20 (must purchase Grand Opening Special to get Mountain Monster at that price).

General admission to the Monster Fall is $15 per person, the Monster Launch is $25 per person and the Mountain Monster is $40 per person. A Monster Package which includes all three rides is available for $60.

The Mountain Monster is open daily from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit www.themountainmonster.com.
